"Passion for bells led to devotion." That was the scene traced back ten years ago in the history of "Gloves". Ringers came, ringers left, bearing with them different hearts for the instrument. Will that passion for pure music-making last for another 10 years without contamination??

Handbells, At first sight, I like them very much. Never stopping to think, I joined Gloves at once. Dialing for my friends and asked them to join. But we needed to find a place to practice, we looked high and low; and Eventually we found a place and settled down. Lifting the cases up and down became a part of life. Later we started teaching and training little kids. So here we are, ten years later.

Lu, Liza

By 1996-97, I have been invited by my best friend to join the Gloves.  I am very impressed by the rehearsals taken in the early years at Academic Community Hall in Baptist University for we had climbed so many times to the room at the top of the hall and rang so much beautiful and ¡§loud¡¨ music on every Tuesday nights.  Invited performances from the community nourished my interest in handbell performing and secured my physical performance as well since we have to move all the bells and cases (more than 30 kg) from and to the venues by ourselves.  Nevertheless, I enjoy every moment with Gloves for we have shared wonderful experiences in ringing both the community concerts and the overseas tours.  I am looking forward to Gloves for a professional handbell choir in Hong Kong.

Wat, Chun Pong    Internal Co-ordinator

Picked handbell as my minor instrument when I entered HKBU, from then on I can never escape the bells. Three years ago I joined the Gloves as a "substitute" ringer, now that I know they need a bass ringer! What a trap! Handbells, I wish I knew how to quit you!
